The Challenge
In order to keep a spotlight on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and to raise valuable funds to support the country’s recovery we have decided to participate in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. It’s the world’s number one ocean endurance race and is widely considered to be one of the toughest challenges on earth.
The race takes participants over 3,000 miles unaided across the Atlantic Ocean. More people have reached the summit of Everest or travelled into space than have successfully rowed across an ocean.
The Team
Meet the Ocean Force team – made up of three friends, Joe, Alex, and Will. We’re incredibly passionate about supporting the brave and resilient people of Ukraine and we’re excited to take on an epic challenge to raise funds for the country’s recovery.
We truly believe that well-motivated people, even if a little past their physical prime, can accomplish amazing things. With a lot of grit, teamwork, and solid planning, we’re determined to prove it by rowing across the Atlantic Ocean.
The Cause
We aim to raise over £100,000 to help with recovery efforts in Ukraine.
After enduring over a year of war, millions of ordinary Ukrainian families are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis. Many are struggling to realise basic needs like food, shelter and education. Problems are amplified for the elderly and those with disabilities particularly during the winter months.
Plus there are millions of mines and unexploded shells that will endanger civilian lives and limbs long after the fighting stops. It is clear that Ukraine will take years to recover.
Sponsorship & Support
Whether you’re a company or an individual there are many ways you can support the team and help us reach our goals.
In order to make this challenge possible – and raise the target of £100,000 for our cause – we need help and funds to get us to the start line.
